Pumpkins with Personality
October 1991, the woods outside Haan, Germany. A wedding photographer walks home instead of taking the bus, still looking for a jack-o'-lantern for his seven-year-old daughter. Off the trail by an old lime pit, he finds a clearing filled with carved pumpkins, glowing from within. Every one has a face, and the cuts are still wet.
